Jesse Minter has reportedly hired his first coordinator as the Ravens' new head coach.

The Ravens are addingDeclan Doyleas their new offensive coordinator, according to reports. Doyle was a first-year offensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears this past season, helping elevate the Bears' offense with Head Coach Ben Johnson.

Pundits lauded the move by Minter and the Ravens' brass to hire Doyle, whoreportedly withdrewfrom the Eagles' offensive coordinator search earlier this week.

"I love this hire," ESPN's Marcus Spears said on "NFL Live." " I look forward to seeing some of the creativity that we know is going to come over from what they were able to do in Chicago."

ESPN's Mina Kimes said she believes the 29-year-old Doyle will be able to help reinvigorate the Ravens' offense, led by Lamar Jackson, who's the same age as Doyle.

"There's a lot of throughlines between the Bears offense and what the Ravens do and what we think they should do," Kimes said. " [Doyle] gets the greatest asset to a run game anyone can have, and that's Lamar Jackson, so I'm excited to see that. This is an opportunity for the quarterback and the play-caller, who are pretty close in age, to grow together."

ESPN's Dan Orlovsky said Thursday that Doyle would be a good fit for Baltimore because he comes from the Shanahan tree. Doyle got his NFL start as an offensive assistant with the New Orleans Saints (2019-2022) and followed Sean Payton as the Broncos' tight ends coach for two seasons before joining Johnson in Chicago.
