IPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay, July 08 (PIA) - 30 Locally Stranded Individuals from Manila arrived in the province 5:00am this morning , July 8.
The 30 LSIs who boarded MV St John Paul of 2GO via Cebu and arrived at the Cagayan de Oro (CDO) seaport on July 7. Immediately, the provincial government of Zamboanga Sibugay thru its Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management (PDRRM) Office dispatched three (3) service vehicles to fetch the LSIs and ferry them back to Sibugay.
PDRRM Officer Lloyd Pranza said the LSIs were fetched by the province on July 7 at CDO and arrived July 8 in Sibugay.
Drivers and other concerned staff were donned in their PPEs while on fetch-duty for the LSIs.
Pranza said the LSIs were dropped early this morning at holding centers in Diplahan and Ipil municipalities where their Municipal Local Government Units (MLGUs) fetched them and brought them to their respective destination-municipalities for a 14-day facility-based quarantine.
"Seven days after their arrival, they will undergo rapid testing," he informed.
Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduado Ano said on Wednesday, July 8, under government protocols, it is a requisite for LSIs to undergo rapid testing and medical assessment before allowing them to travel back to their hometowns.
Meanwhile, Pranza revealed that they are awaiting the arrival of three new vehicles procured by the province to be used for LSI service assistance. (NBE/JPA/PIA-Zamboanga Sibugay)
